I was just thinking this afternoon about the words lost and released in conjunction with weight loss. Many of you use the word frequently and I haven't really thought about it until today. I really love the idea of weight released. If you think about it, weight lost kind of sounds like, "Okay, it is lost for now, but what if I find it again?" Lost, is rather a negative word. Look to this link to read briefly on the definition of lost: freedictionary.com
Released, brings up connotations of "let go" or "offered up" or "set free" or "relieve," and my favorite synonyms "relinquish" or "liberate." Here is a link for the definition of released: freedictionary.com
I think I will start using released more.
I have released 12.6 pounds during this third round! I have released a total of 37.6 pounds since my beginning weight.
I have noticed that "released" thing. To me, it carries the connotation of an exorcism! :)
ReplyDeleteI like it!
It sounds like things are going really well! I am glad to hear it! And I will try to be better about not tempting you with holiday goodies. :)
ReplyDeleteI prefer the term "released" as well. Love "liberate"! I've liberated 55 pounds! Woohoo! Be free, weight, be free!
ReplyDeleteYou girls make me laugh. Either way its gone forever. I still like lost cause some things you lose you never find again lol
ReplyDeleteLove the term released. I didn't do it grudgingly, I purposely let it go. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love 'released! I don't wanna EVER find those lbs again!! I love that we have 'liberated' those pounds from our bodies-
ReplyDeleteYou are doing GREAT, btw! I read your post from yesterday about your meatloaf. It sounds scrumptious. Have you tried making the chili? I also loved making asparagus soup and then putting ground chicken breast in it. It was yummy, especially on a cold day; so was the chili! I also loved boiled shrimp with lemon squeezed on top, and grilled chicken breast with the Walden Farms BBQ sauce on the side. Yum, yum, yum!
