This post I hope may give some of you on HCG and following the diet currently some inspiration. So without further ado, here is a little insight from my own personal experience:
As we all know, my second round did not go so well. I only lost 15 pounds in some 30 days give or take (I lost track). Now, don't get me wrong I am happy with being in the 140's (upper 140's to be exact). But, I am really disappointed in myself, because I could have pushed harder and just been a little more persistent and I would have made it to the 130's. The only reason this wave of disappointment is coming over me is because now I must get through all the holiday festivities waiting another 2 months before tackling my third AND FINAL round. :) I just wish I would have taken my second round more seriously and pushed through. So, don't be like me. haha! You all can do this. Embrace the valleys along with the grand vistas from the peaks! Valleys can too be beautifully scenic and we can't just skip from peak to peak, we must also climb. Okay, a little cheesy, but I have never claimed not to be corny or flowery. haha!
With all that said, I do want to say and recognize that it wasn't so much a failure in numbers as it was a success in working through what I had to during my second round. Many have said this before, you learn much from the struggle. You learn through trying and having the courage to at least be in the process no matter how much you lose. What I have come away with is a greater respect for food, exercise, being healthy and myself as a person. I am worthy. We are all worthy.
I am still maintaining and lost another 0.8 pounds yesterday to get me within range of my final weight as of round 2. So, hold out hope for that simple fact: On this diet you are less likely to gain back all the weight you just put a huge amount of effort into losing! That is awesomely wonderful!!!
Happy losing to you all!!!
This blog has journaled my weight loss experience since 2009. Starting with HCG, leaving HCG, coming back to HCG and then leaving it for good. Other various topics are strewn throughout: pregnancy, home birth, life and soon new ways of living I would like to explore. I am now using "The Diet Cure" principles, to get to the place I want to be: healthy and happy about it!

Mommy, will you play with me?
I would like to start this post off with kind of a quirk about myself. We have this regular wind up clock in the kitchen and for half a year you have had to add an hour to the time shown on the clock to arrive at the correct time. Let me explain. It is high up on the wall. After you finally get it down you have to unscrew a seemingly insane amount of tiny screws to get at the roller that changes the time. So, I have left it an hour behind this whole time. Now I have to get used to NOT adding an extra hour. It now reads the correct time. :) Heaven forbid if the batteries go out. We will just have a useless clock on the wall. Yep, you all can laugh at me right now.
Another thing happened today, which was really amazing for me. I have always been athletic, and then I gained weight and had no inclination towards moving my butt unless absolutely necessary. Today my girls and I walked to the park. My oldest daughter (4) asked, "Mommy, will you play with me? I want to play tag with you." First of all, it was kind of sweet to have her choose me to play with her out of all the other little kids running around. She usually is content with me watching idly by as she plays with the other kids. Secondly, I played. I ran around and played tag with my little girls. She then wanted to up the stakes: hide n' seek. I agreeably joined in on the idea. I grabbed up my youngest (1) and ran with her in my arms to different hiding places. I had fun. I loved my time this afternoon with my two precious little girls playing. I loved the fact that I could actually move without huffing and puffing or feeling pain and embarrassment. But, the kicker was what another mom said to her friend as I passed by. Her friend said, "Oh, that looks fun." The woman replied, "Yeah, but there is no way I would do that. I am way too out of shape."
I used to be that woman. Not willing or really even completely able to freely play with my child because of that little thing (or big thing) called fat. It truly is amazing what a release of pounds will do for a person in not only the grand ways, but also including all the simple everyday aspects of life.

That's me?!

Yes, it sure is! I have always been so disapproving of most pictures taken of me, but that is changing. :) So, here is a picture of me to commemorate my entry into the 140's! It has been a good 5 years since I have weighed this much and I feel like celebrating! Not with food- just a nice picture of myself I can be proud of (no Photoshop- see post Good Riddance, Girdles! :)).
Have a happy weekend!
Day 13, Round 2- Back on Track!
Let me start with catching up from yesterday:
October 1, 2009
Day 12
weigh in: 150.6 pounds
loss of: 0.6 pounds
Now for this morning! As you can see I am pretty excited. :) I am in the 140's, YIPEEEE!!!!
weigh in: 148.6 pounds!!!
loss of: 2.0 pounds!
total loss to date: 13.2 pounds!!!
Yesterday I was not pleased at all and didn't want to share my disappointment. I felt like something was wrong and I was never going to lose more weight than I already had. This morning I feel back on track. So, to all my readers- if you're in a rut, try and keep your chin up. I know that sounds silly and basically impossible, because I am suggesting something that I couldn't even do. However, we need to try and see, that although we may be frustrated at the moment- there will be a morning when all that frustration is dispelled and you are renewed and ready to take on that fat by storm. HCG is AWESOME, and although we have been told a million times how it works and what to expect sometimes we forget and it ultimately takes a decrease of the scale reading to snap us out of it. We are fickle creatures, I tell you. :)
Anyway, here is what I ate yesterday. I apologize, I can't remember what I ate on Day 12, isn't that awful?! It was just regular protocol foods- nothing out of the ordinary.
Lunch:
lean ground turkey with sliced onion on top (I don't know if this is allowed, but I tried it anyway. The taste wasn't all together that great- kind of bland, but it seemed to work! :))
4 strawberries
I was quite full and due to poor scheduling and a hectic day I did not eat dinner yesterday. I had an apple about mid afternoon.
Good day of losing or maintaining to everyone!
Oh, and I forgot to point out another milestone I have reached besides hitting the 140 pound range. I have passed a total of 30 pounds lost since I started HCG in late July with a loss of 31.6 pounds!!! Look to sidebar. :)

Good Riddance, Girdles!
Today I wore a vest and jeans I wore continually last fall, because I loved and still do (I can zip it up now- that's a wonderful feeling) the brown vest which I thought covered up some of my problem areas. However, I wore a Kimora girdle without fail almost everyday. I HATE GIRDLES! My husband hates them even more.
So, I just want to say GOOD RIDDANCE to those terrible, awfully uncomfortable girdles! What torture I put myself through because I felt so poorly about my appearance. And, my husband used to say, "I don't know why you wear that thing? I am sorry, but I can't really tell a difference anyway." It used to make me mad, but the truth hurts, right?! :) Well, those days are gone, regardless of not being to my goal weight yet.
This is a picture of me and my girls last fall in the brown vest and jeans I am referring to in the above paragraphs, and let me tell you I got darn good at hiding myself in a picture. Oh and Photoshop helps too! :) It is amazing what lighting and clone stamp tools magically do to a person. What a cheater I am! Anyway, in the following picture I have that stupid girdle on, my kids are hiding me and I found if you sit with your butt down (like in a wagon) your legs will appear smaller. So, this picture is really basically a farce when it comes to my actual body. But, oh well I still LOVE it! My girls are so adorable!

I think I am going to have a girdle burning party someday in the future. haha! :) I also, wanted to mention I actually almost forgot about that constricting girdle until today when I put on these clothes. It thought it was going to get away unscathed. Not so
fast! :)
Thank you again for humoring my ramblings!
Goodnight my wonderful readers and fellow bloggers.

Working the numbers, AND drumroll please...
This morning I have been sitting here scribbling out the various possibilities that could occur based on a couple factors. If I started HCG today with the remaining drops from my first bottle (hopefully, my second bottle will be here at the latest on Wednesday of next week) then I would have a bit of a problem. I unfortunately, weighed in at 160 pounds this morning. So, that would mean after my gorge I would get up to around 165 pounds. I would then have to lose 30 pounds not 25 pounds to get to 135 pounds. A five pound weight difference doesn't seem like a lot, but in reality it is. I want to get into the mid 130's!
After much consideration, I think I will be a little more patient. I am going to make a stronger effort to lose 4-5 pounds in the next few days and start HCG after (have not really been trying one way or the other, which is good, at least I have not gone above 160). I believe I should do this, because I am not sure I will have the endurance to lose that extra 5 pounds from 25 to 30 pounds. And, who is to say it would only take 30 days to lose 30 pounds, because weight loss does slow as you progress further into the round. I, also know towards the end of my first round I was fading fast, and the 3 days after discontinuing HCG seemed like an eternity. :) Anyway, at least I know myself, so I better give myself every advantage and put in the time early.
I know you all wanted to hear all my inner discussions. Sorry and thanks for listening. :)
Oh, and you know those before and after pictures I have been promising forever and just have been reluctant to share, well here they are. This is where the drumroll comes in. :) This is me at 180 pounds. I am now 160 pounds, hopefully soon to be back at 155-156 pounds to start my second round off right. :)
I don't have a waist, and my arms and thighs look so thick. Look at my after picture! I could not even come close to zipping this jacket up before and I have a waist and I definitely can see it in my face and arms! :)
Now for the side pose. Jeez! It is comforting to be 20 pounds away from this picture!

My disappearing tummy, bulky arms and thighs. Yay! :)

Sharing these pictures was kind of hard for me, but I think I finally needed to post them. It gives me motivation for the second round and replaces my nervousness with excitement! So thanks for patronizing me. :)
We all have our own weight loss journey and a common denominator is, and can be (for all those future HCG users) HCG. With diligence and determination we all have the capability of getting down to a healthy and desired weight! Here is to feeling fabulous, healthy and of course sexy again! :) Cheers!
